Video theme setup ♡

Preset video themes load files from the same deployed site. Your private custom wallpaper is different: the Customize panel keeps that file on this device.

Add a wallpaper

  1. Open your existing GitHub website folder, beside index.html.
  2. Upload your real MP4, MOV or WebM file, for example assets/wallpapers/miku.mov.
  3. Edit theme-media.json and set the matching theme key, for example "sparkle": "assets/wallpapers/miku.mov".
  4. Commit your changes and wait for Vercel to deploy them.

You can also use a direct HTTPS video URL in that file. Leave a setting empty to use the original wallpaper filename. If the original MP4 is absent, the build detects an identically named MOV or WebM.

The missing original wallpapers were not included in the update. Renaming an extension does not convert the video. MOV compatibility depends on its codec; export H.264 MP4 if visitors’ browsers cannot play it.

Just changing your own background?

Open Customize → Wallpaper, select a file, choose Use this wallpaper, then Apply. Your wallpaper stays on this device. Display controls adjust transparency, blur and playback.
